Work in Progress (Scott)

Welcome to our blog in progress for the Broward Beat. I've lived in the South Broward area for most of my life. I've experienced the growth of the area in cities including Pembroke Pines, which went from a proverbial forest to one of the fastest evolving communities in the United States. While attending Florida International University, I'm also a theater manager for Regal Entertainment Group in Pembroke Pines. During my five years there I've seen the crazy seniors of Century Village to local celebrities Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson, Jason Taylor and Trick Daddy. In addition, I've also had the opportunity to work as a free lancer for the Miami Herald, specifically for the Hometown/Neighbors section. For the past three years, I've covered high school sporting events, female professional football players, mixed martial arts and local music groups like Nonpoint, who now are known throughout the world. With this publication me and my fellow staffers hope to spotlight the good, the bad and the ugly of South Broward.
